We are a young Australian family who in 2024 sold everything we own - the house, business, car.. all of it.

Sailing our own boat always seemed like a retirement plan, until one day we woke up and realised we are living now & tomorrow isn’t promised.

We wanted to spend quality time together as a family now, and Smile allowed us to create some of the most memorial moments of our lives.

With the initial plan to live onboard year-round for 2-3 years, we moved to the other side of the world and onboard Smile in Croatia. Given the plans, we did a full upgrade to ensure living onboard & off-grid would be comfortable year-round. Shane meticulously fine tuned all of the smaller inner-workings and Smile now runs like a well-oiled machine.

We soon realised how different the seasons are in the Mediterranean and decided we didn’t want to stay onboard during the cold Winters and instead hopped home to Australia to enjoy our summer.

Season One wrapped up in Greece where Smile is patiently waiting our imminent return for Season Two!This will be out last season on Smile before we return to land life and set up a base and enjoy those comforts like a yard & a dog.

This chapter has been (and will continue to be) one of the best of our lives! We have bonded closer as a family, seen some incredible sights and made boat friends for life.
